Wildcat's Hanson Explodes
In The 4th Against Hawley
With 11:32 left in the game
it looked like Archer City
was going to make a come-
back as Shane Hanson ex-
ploded up the middle for a 77
yard touchdown to make the
score 21-7 after the PAT.
The Wildcat's momentum
increased when the
Bearcat's next drive resulted
in a J,3 and out" series. The
change of possession had
the Wildcats pinned deep
into their own territory on
the 10 yard line. A five yard
penalty on 2nd and 5, put a
heavy burden on the
Wildcat's struggling of-
fense.
Archer City was forced to
punt and Hawley took back
possession of the ball in good
field position starting out
on the Wildcat 39 yard line.
The Wildcats held Hawley,
one last time, but not before
the Bearcats took the game
clock down to 3:46 left to
play.
With 1:37 left in the game,
Hawley scored their last
touchdown of the evening.
The Bearcats defeated the
Wildcats by a final score of
28-7. Hawley improves their
record to 3-2 as Archer City
drops to 2-3.
Penalties were a big factor
in the outcome of the game.
The Wildcats amassed 8 pen-
alties for 60 yards while the
Bearcats had only been set
back 30 yards.
A notable for .Archer City
was RB Shane Hanson who
carried the ball 9 times for
96 yards. Defensively, David
Cadaoas had 7 tackles, 7 as-
sists, a caused fumble, and a
quarterback hurry. Justin
Pipper turned in 8 tackles, 5
assists, a fumble recovery,
and 2 hurries. Jarrod Canada
recorded 8 tackles, 6 assists,
and fumble recovery while
Ben O'Neil added 7 tackles
and 5 assits.
The Wildcats will open dis-
trict 9-2A play this week
when they host the Holliday
Eagles.
