Becky Crow Schreiber
Windthorst, Texas
Becky Crow Schreiber,
58, died Friday July 8,
2011, at United Regional
in Wichita Falls, Texas.
A celebration of life was
held at 10:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, July 12, at St.
Maiy’s Catholic Church in
Windthorst, Texas, with
Father David Kraeger
officiating, assisted by
Roger Deerinwater of First
Baptist Church in Archer
City. Interment was in
Windthorst under the
direction of Aulds Funeral
Home of Archer City.
A rosary and wake was
held on Monday night at
7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in
Windthorst, Texas.
Becky was bom on
August 23,1952, to W. J.
“Bill” and Alvina “Vicki”
Crow in Wichita Falls,
Texas. She was preceded
in death by her father on
May 1,2006.
Becky attended Archer
City ISD and graduated in
1970; she furthered her
education by obtaining a BA
in sociology and English
from Midwestern State

University and then a
master’s degree as a
Licensed Drug and Alcohol
Counselor.
For four years she taught
and coached volleyball at
Windthorst High School
beginning in 1979 where
she was instrumental in
promoting an award winning
Freida Mason
Wichita Falls
formerly of Archer City
Frieda G. Mason, 92,
went home to be with her
Lord and Savior on Sunday,
July 10,2011. She had
been receiving hospice care
in Carrollton, Texas.
Services was held at 10
a.m. Saturday, July 16,
2011, at Faith Baptist
Church in Wichita Falls,
Texas. Burial was in the
Archer City Cemetery
under the direction of Aulds
Funeral Home.
The family received friends
on Friday, July 15,2011,
from 6:00 p.m.. until 7:00
volleyball program. For an
additional four years she
continued in that role at
Archer City High School
initiating that program. She
was also extremely active in
the area club volleyball
program; she was
successful in leading teams
to national competition.
Over the years she
continued to follow her
passion of supporting local
athletes.
In following yet another
passion she was employed
by the Serenity Foundation
of Texas as an LCDC for
approximately 15 years
before her recent
retirement. She loved
assisting others battling
addiction through her
counseling.
As a former breast cancer
survivor, Becky was ardent
in her support of the
American Cancer Society
and Relay for Life.
She was married to her
lifelong companion David
Schreiber on April 12,
1975, at St. Mary’s in
Windthorst.
She is survived by her
husband David of the home;
sons Andrew of Wichita
Falls and Todd of Cedar
Park, Texas; daughter
Amber Morrison and
husband Blake of Wichita
Falls; grandchildren Ty, T*“ *
Cole, and Gage Morrison
andKylie Schreiber;
mother, Vicki Crow of
Archer City; sister Beverly
Crow of Windthorst;
brother Bill Crow and wife
Robie of Wichita Falls;
numerous nieces, nephews,
and friends.
The family requests
memorials be made to the
American Cancer society or
to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Frieda was bom March
12,1919 in S askatoon,
Saskatchewan, Canada and
moved to the United States
where she became a
naturalized citizen, and was
formerly married to Charles
J. Gaines (deceased),
Paschal C. Gosler
(deceased) and Ray Mason
(deceased). She moved to
Archer City, Texas in 1956
where she lived for nearly
27 years, after which she
moved to Burkbumett,
rexas. She later moved
into Rolling Meadows, in
Wichita Falls and was a
very active and beloved
resident until her death.
Frieda’s life reflected
Christ’s love, and her faith
and trust in Him gave her an
indomitable spirit by which
she overcame many difficult
circumstances in her life.
She passed this heritage
onto her sons,

James Lester Keen, age
87, of Wichita Falls, Texas
passed away July 11,2011
in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Cremation services are
under the direction of Aulds
Funeral Home of Archer
City. Memorial services
will be held at a later date.
James was bom April 8,
1924 in Yantis, Texas to
James Richard Keen and
Carrie Shoemaker Keen.
He and Mattie Jane
Harrison were married
February 28,1947 in Alba,
Texas.
During World War II, he
proudly served his country
in the Army-Air Force. Mr.
Keen was a sheet metal
journeyman most of his life.
In the early 1960’s, he
coached the Boys Club
baseball.
Survivors include his wife,
Janie Keen of Wichita Falls;
son, Larry James Keen and
wife, Paula J. Bowman
Keen of Grandfield,
Oklahoma, daughter,
Kandy Jane Garcia and
husband, Abraham of Iowa
Park; brother, Charles
Herman Keen and wife,
Sue of Sulphur Springs,
Texas; sister, Reba Buford
of Emory, Texas; and five
grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by two sons, David
Wayne Keen on September
28,2010, and Herry Paul
Keen on October 18,
2003; one daughter, Sandy
Kay Keen in 1969; two
brothers, Frankie Ray ‘D
and Roy Lonzell; and four
sisters, Vera Walker, Ruth
Thomas, Bernice Pope and
Sammie Kenimer.
In lieu of flowers, the
family suggests memorials
to Hospice of Wichita Falls,
grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren, and they will
be eternally thankful for the
gift of her life in their own.
She is greatly loved by her

family, and she will be
deeply missed. Her bright,
loving, and strong spirit will
live on, not only in the lives
of her family, but in the
lives of all of those who
were fortunate to call her a
friend.
Frieda is survived by two
sons, Robert K. (Bob)
Gaines of Southlake, Texas
and Charles W. Gaines of
Heath, Texas. She is also
survived by a brother,
Albert Kuyath of
Sutherland, Saskatchewan,
Canada and five
grandchildren, Shannon
Braun, Chip Gaines, Alyssa
Ray, William Gaines, Chris
Gaines, and six great-
grandchildren.

Arlington, Texas, formerly
of Archer City, Texas
passed away July 5,2011
in Arlington.
Services will be held at
12:00 p.m. Saturday, July
9,2011, at Aulds Funeral
Home of Archer City with
her grandson, Randy
Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the
Archer City Cemetery
under the direction of
Aulds Funeral Home.
A memorial service will
also be held at 1:30 p.m.

in Arlington, Texas.
She and Luther N.
Wakefield \frere married
May 1935. He preceded
her in death on December
28,1954. She then
married Clyde Hutchinson
in 1956 and he preceded
her in death in 1976.
Mrs. Hutchinson was a
bookkeeper throughout
her life.
Survivors include two
sons, Luther N. “Junior”
Wakefield of Archer City,
and Jerry D. Wakefield of
Waxahachie, Texas; one
daughter, Patsy E. Williams
of Arlington; four
grandchildren; and eleven
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded
in death by three
grandchildren, Larry D.

David M. Garrett, age
86, of County Line
Community, near Point,
Texas passed away
Wednesday afternoon, July
6,2011 at a Dallas, Texas
hospital.
Acelebrati.on of his life
was held at 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, July 9,2011, at
the Emory Baptist Church in
Emory, Texas with Rev.
Howard Strickland of Miller
Grove Methodist Church
and Rev. Benny Dixon of
Sulphur Springs, officiating.
Interment followed in the
Clifton Cemetery under the
direction of West Oaks
Funeral Home in Sulphur
Springs, Texas.
The family received
friends from 6:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m. Friday, July 8,
2011, at West Oaks Funeral
Home.
David was bom on June
2,1925, on the Garrett
family farm four miles south
of Miller Grove, Texas to
J.W. “Bill” and Bedie
Lennon Garrett. He
attended County Line Rural
School, then Emory High
School where he graduated
in 1943.
During World War II, he
proudly served his county in
the Navy and served in the
South Pacific Theater from
1944 until 1946 and was a
gunner’s mate on the US S
Manuel.
He and Mary Frances
Pippin were married on
March 4,1946, at the Bill
Garrett home place in the
County Line Community.
She preceded him in death
on April 4,1978. Later, he
married Pat Klaras Aulds on
November 12,1983 in
Archer City, Texas.
David attended East
Texas State in Commerce
and Sam Houston State in
Huntsville. He graduated in
1949 with a Bachelor of
Science Degree from East
Texas State University. y
His first teaching position
was as a Vocational Ag
teacher at Alvord High
School in Alvord, Texas
from 1949 until 1951.
David and Frances returned
to the farm in Rains County
where he was a “special
services” teacher for Rains
County from 1952 until
1954 and was the sponsor
of the 1954 Senior Class at
Emory High School.
They moved to Dallas
and David was employed at
the Dallas Fire Department
beginning in August 1954.
He retired as Captain of
Station #4 in downtown
Dallas on May 8,1984 after
almost thirty years of
service.
While living in Dallas, he
worked with the Cub
Sqouts. He was a member
of the Alvord Lions Club
where he served as
president, and a member of
the Emory Lions Club. He
was also a fifty year
member of the Hopkins
Masonic Lodge # 180 in
I

Cumby, Texas. David was
a member of the County
Line Baptist Church and
served as a deacon. He
and his family donated the
land for the expansion of
the church and building of
the Family Life Center.
Survivors include his
wife, Pat of the home; four
sons, Dave Garrett and
wife, Janie of Coppell,
Texas, Bill Garrett of Point,
Mike Aulds of Archer City,
Texas, and Chris Aulds and
wife, Terry of Dallas, Texas;'
three daughters, Lisa
Garrett Vinson and
husband, Bryan of Plano,
Debbie Aulds Walker of
Fort Worth, Texas, and
Karen Aulds of Archer
City; one brother, Howaird
Garrett and wife, Cornelia
of the Bonanza Community;
one brother-in-law, P.L
Pippin and wife, Shorty of
Archer City; fourteen
grandchildren; three great-
grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was also preceded in
death by his parents; his
sister, Maurine “Peg” Riley;
and his daughter-in-law,
Pebbles Aulds.
Serving as pallbearers
will be his grandsons,
Matthew Garrett, Austin
Garrett, Dylan Fisher,
Christopher Walker, Trevor
Aulds and Michael Aulds.

Antelope Reunion
The Antelope Ex-Students
Association Homecoming
will be Sunday, July 24,2011
at the Antelope Community
Center. Registration will be-
gin at 10:30 a.m. A catered
meal will be served at 12:30
p.m. Cost of the meal will be
$9 for adults. President of the
association, Edward (Shine)
Leach, will recognize the
Class of ‘ 61. Those who have
passed away in the past year
will be memorialized. There
will also be the presentation
of the Homecoming Queen,
and recognition of all our vet-
erans. The Post Oak Band
will provide special entertain-
ment. Please respong if you
plan to attend.
