Blood Drive

Members of the Archer
City High School chapter of the
National Honor Society will host
a blood drive conducted by
American Red Cross on Monday,
December 11, 2006. The drive
will be held in the school cafete-
ria from 3:00PM to 7:00PM.
Students at least 17 years
old and all community members
are encouraged to give blood.
Donors must weigh a minimum
of 110 pounds and be of general
good health. Blood may be given
every 56 days.
Donors who donate be-
tween November 19 and Janu-
ary 5 are automatically entered
to win a $100 certificate to Sikes
Senter Mall or a $100 gas card.
One lucky Texas winter will also
be drawn to win 2 tickets from
Southwest Airlines.
National Honor Society
members hosted their first blood
drive in May 2006. Twenty-
seven pints of blood were col-
lected and twenty-one donors
were first-time donors. Seven-
teen of the donors were ACHS
students who gave blood for the
first time.
The NHS chapter has set
a goal of 30 pints for this drive.
Please make plans to give today.
Walk-ins are welcome or you
may schedule an appointment to
give with any NHS member or
by calling Bethann Oswald, NHS
Faculty Advisor at 574-4713,

Vernon College Campus
Connect registration dates for
the 2007 spring semester are De-
cember 6-10 & December 15-
January 5 for all eligible stu-
dents.
On-site registration for
new and re-enrolling students
will take place on Wednesday,
January 10, at Century City Cen-
ter, located at 4105 Maplewood
Avenue, in Wichita Falls and on
the Vernon campus Thursday,
January 11, at the Osborne Ad-
ministration Building. Classes
begin January 16 on all Vernon
College campuses.
Campus Connect is
Vernon College’s web-based reg-
istration system. It enables eli-
gible students to register for
credit courses from any com-
puter with Internet access or at
selected Vernon College com-
puter labs. To access Internet
registration, students must meet
all admissions requirements,
have a PIN (Personal Identifica-
tion Number), no holds on their
records, and attended a New Stu-
dent Group Advising session
prior to registration through
Campus Connect.
First-time students must
complete an Application for Ad-
mission form, have high school
or college transcripts sent to the
registrar’s office, have their
ACCUPLACER scores on file (if
required), and attended New
Student Group Advising.
For students who cannot
attend classes on campus,
Internet classes are available
online. Students should check
the class schedule for any man-
datory class meetings and have
their own working computer and
Internet connection.

2006 HHS Graduate Receives Hall
of Honor Plaque _

Jeff Mitchell, a
Holliday High School (HHS)
senior of 2006 has had a plaque
entered in the Holliday High
School Hall of Honor. To qualify
for the Hall of Honor, Jeff earned
eight medals in University Inter-
scholastic League state level
competitions while in school.
Jeff is currently attending Lamar
University where he is majoring
in business and computer
science. The medals Jeff earned
are as follows.
