Goolsby-Strother
Exchange Vows
Shirley Jean Strother and Jeral
Wesley "Chip" Goolsby were mar-
ried, September 28, 1996, in the First
Baptist Church of West Columbia,
Texas. The Reverend Larry Craig
officiated.
Parents of the bride are Clifford
Strother of West Columbia and Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Ince of Arlington,
Texas. Parents of the groom are Gay
Bowles of Archer City, Texas and
Jeral Goolsby of West Columbia,
T e.xas.
The bride, escorted by her father,
wore a gown of white w ild tat leta with
lace accenting its beauty. Pearl bead-
ing finished the heart cut-out on the
back of the bodice. To complete her
attire, the bride wore a hat of tulle,
lace, and beads.
Brenda Strother, sister of the bride,
was the maid of honor. Carol Dean,
also a sister of the bnde, was a brides-
maid. Both attendants wore silk taf-
feta and lace dresses of teal.
Jason Cobb was the best man. The
groom's father, Jeral Goolsby, was a
groomsman. Amber Foreman was the
flower girl. Collin Golightly was the
ring bearer. Donald Ince, stepfather of
the bride, and Jason Ince, stepbrother
of the bnde, were the candle lighters.
The church activity hall w as the set-
ting for the reception. The bride's
colors of white and teal decorated the
hall. The groom's father gave the
rehearsal dinner at the Taste of Texas
restaurant in West Columbia, Texas.
The bride is a 1991 graduate of Co-
lumbia High School. She is a teacher
at "Miss Missy's Daycare".
The groom attended Archer City
schools and is a 1991 graduate ot
Columbia High School. He is a sales-
man for Allen Samuel Chevrolet in
Anglclon, Texas.
The couple honeymooned in Cancun.
Mexico. They are making their home
in West Columbia, Texas.
Windthorst PTG Sets Fall Festival
The annual Windthorst PTG Fall
Festival will be held don Saturday,
November 2, from 7:00 p.m to 9:00
p.m in the Parish Hall. A pumpkin
painting contest will held for all ages.
Prize money w ill be awarded to the
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place w inners in the
follow ing categories: Cutest Pumpkin
and Scariest Pumpkin. All pumpkins
must be registered by 7:30 p.m. Ral lie
tickets are being sold by the students
for various prizes. Come out and
enjoy an ev ening of food, fun, and
games and help support the Windthorst
PTG.
Tickets Still Available For Friday
Rifle Drawing
The Archer County Veterans' Me-
morial Committee will draw tor a
Model 700 Remington 243 caliber
rifle with a Redfield 3 to 9 scope at
noon Friday (tomorrow) at the memo-
rial on the courthouse lawn. Tickets
are available from committee mem-
bers or call Pat Brock at 574-4716.
Wildcat Band Boosters
Slate Fajita Supper
The Archer City Wildcat Band
Boosters will sponsor a fajita supper
Friday, October 25, prior to the Electra
football game. Mesquite grilled
chicken fajitas, beef tacos, beans, rice,
chips and dip, tea, and dessert will be
served in the school cafeteria from
5:00 until 17:00 p.m. Tickets may be
purchased in advance or at the door for
$5 for adults and $3.50 for children
under 12.
Take-out orders are also av ailable.
Windthorst JCDA Meets
The Junior Catholic Daughters of the
Americas, Court #296, in Windthorst
held a meeting on Sunday, September
29, in the meeting room of St. Mary's
Parish Hall. Erin Wolf presided. The
girls'discussed the upcoming scav en-
ger hint and signed up as donors for
the Seamen's kits. The date of the
scav enger hunt was set for Sunday,
October 20th.
The Juniors and Juniorettes of the
JCDA conducted their annual scaven-
ger hunt for food and necessity items
for the needy on the 20th. The win-
ning team consisted of : Dia Bercnd.
Paula Koetter. Amanda Ostermann,
and Samantha Zotz. The Junior Catho-
lic Daughters express their apprecia-
tion to those who contributed to the
project and to the mothers who pro-
v ided transportation: Patricia Koetter,
Bonnie Schiumpf, and Lillie Wolf.
