he essayed to no tricks of passion-
ate oratory, he held the attention

and was"eminently successful in
stamping his individuality upon
those who heal'd him. He did not
attempt to use the worn out and
frazzled party lash, but his speech
was an invitation to come and let

Appelt’s Hill. Charles Muecke,
Jr., took first prize in target shoot-
ing. Ity glass ball shooting C.
Wolle, Breslau, took first prize.
Judging from the fact that the
supply of beer was exhausted by
' 1 o’clock, we presume, there }must
have been a goodly number of
candidates in attendance. Well,
the election is near at hand when
as Mr. Works, says the candidates
will be "chopped out to a staftd.”
I hope that the healthiest plants
will be left and that the Btand will
be a good one.
