Dods to join ACU nursing staff
replacing retiring nurse Hogue
Gwen Dods from Weyburn Saskat-
chewan Canada has been hired as a school
nurse to replace Elizabeth Hogue who will
retire from that post in Jury.
Mrs Dods will begin full-time work at the
beginning of Summester II in mid-July. She
worked as a high school nurse for 12 years
and spent three years as Director of Nursing
at the Moosejaw Union Hospital in
Weybum.
Mrs. Dods and her husband Glen have
three children attending ACU: Jacki a
freshman; Janet a freshman business
major; and Tim a sophomore business
major.
Garvin Beauchamp vice president for
student services said "I think Mrs. Dods
will be a fine asset to our health services."
Mrs. Hogue began working at ACU in
September 1963. Beauchamp said she has
been a good nurse for the school.
"Mrs. Hogue has been a groat person in
our health services" he said. "She came
m
when we had very poor services and has
been a great help in making our services
what they are today. She is a very good
nurse and she also relates well to people."
Avis Waldrop will continue to be ACU's
head nurse Beauchamp said. She took that
position in the fall of 1980 when Mrs. Hogue
asked to be relieved of the administrative
duties of head nurse.
