A program meeting of the
Wesleyan Service Guild of
the First Methodist Church
was held Monday evening at
the church. Mrs. Ross Trues-
dale gave the devotional.
Miss Marie Huckabee pre-
sented the program on “Your
Light Has Come.*’ Assisting
were Mrs. Ray Kipple and
Mrs. Bob Howery.
Announcements and assign-
ments were made for a study
of Africa which will begin
Feb. 1 and continue through
Feb. 22. Mrs. John Loftin will
direct the study. A film on
Africa, “Continent in Fer-|
ment” will be shown in the
fellowship hall of the church
on Feb. 1 at 7:30 p. m. Any-
one interested may attend.
Refreshments were served
to sixteen members and one
guest by Mrs. Wayne Tate
and Mrs. Loftin.

Installation
New officers of the Order
of Rainbow for Girls will be
installed in an open installa-
tion ceremony Saturday
night at 7:30 at the Masonic
Temple.
Miss Jo Ann Dickerson,

A. Dickerson, will be in-
stalled as worthy advisor.
The new advisory board
will also be installed at this
time.

ter break at home and will
return to Florida next week.

L. D. Crumly, Jr., of Mid-
land visited here with his mo-
ther, Mrs. L. D. Crumly, last
week, and with his sisters,
Mrs. W. W. Brooks of this city
and Mrs. Duke Camden of
Corpus Christi.
Mrs. Camden and' Mr.
Crumly made a trip to Hous-
ton over the weekend.

STUDY ON AFRICA
The Woman’s Society of
Christian Service met in the
Fellowship Hall of the First
Methodist Church Tuesday
morning for the third study
session on Africa. The topic
was "Which Way, Young Af-
rica.” ’
Mrs. H. P. Bertsoh was in
charge of the program. As-
sisting her were Mrs. L. W.
Morgan, Mrs. Homer Camp-
bell, Mrs. William Gould,
Mrs. Dale Hasson and Mrs.
J. B. Flagg, Jr. The group
studied religions and animism
of Africa and Mrs. Andy
Widmer talked on Islam.
There were fourteen ladies
attending.

the Lone Star Park Building
Wednesday, Jan. 20, and elect-

Lowe, Shirley Crowe and Yo-
landa Botelk), patrol leaders.
