Chamber Board of Commissioners
City 'Hall, City of Abilene, Texas
The Board of Commissioners of The City of Abilene, Texas, met in
regular session Friday, October 25, 1951 with Mayor York present and
presiding, Commissioners present Morrison, Sammons, Johnson and
Womack,
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A1ITH. PURCHASE 0F20 Commissioner Johnson made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
BLANKETS FOR authorizing the purchase of twenty blankets at $1.75 each, for the
JAIL Jail in the City Hall. All commissioners voted "Aye",
VACATION AUTH • Commissioner Sammons made a motion, duly seconded and. carried,
G. SCOGIN that G. Scogin be allowed a vacation from October 26 to October 51,
1951. All Commissioners voted "Aye".
PA'^MENT FOR EXTRA Commissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
HELP AT ZOO authorizing the City Secretary to Issue a voucher for $1.50 in \
favor of Geo. W. Baggett for extra help at zoo during pne day’s
vacation. All Commissioners voted ''Aye'1.
PAYROLL & VOUCHERS Commissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
APPROVED. approving for payment all vouchers approved, Nos, 5285B to 5515 B
inclusive, and payrolls presented and approved for payment. All
Commissioners voted "Aye”.
The FolLowing resolution was read before the Board:
RESOLUTION AUTH. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A LEASE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE LEASE WITH J. N. FERGERSON.
ONTRACT WITH J.N.
FERGERSON Whereas, J. N. Fergerson proposes to lease from The
Abilene for annual rental of $100.00 the lands described
memorandum attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
Whereas, it seems that such contract is for tie best interests
of The City of Abilene, Texas:

Commissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
AUTHORIZING THE City Secretary to issue a voucher for $20,900.00
in favor of the Citizens National Bank out of the Sewer Warrant
Fund 1929, in payment of warrants and interest. All Commissioners
voted "Aye".
ACCEPT BID NOR LIME Commissioner Sammons made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
that the bid of Round Rock White Lime Companybe accepted for Lime
at $15.00 and 16.50 per tom, as shown on contract. All Commissioners
