The Chamber of Board of Commissioners
The City of Abilene, Texas,
The Board of Commissioners of The City of Abilaie, Texas met
in regular session Friday August 18, 1933 at three o’clock P. M.
with Mayor Johnson present and presiding. Commissioners Hal^,
Tittle, Boyd and Womack were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
APPROVAL OF PURCHASEommissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
OF $15,000.00 approving the purchase of $15,000.00 City of Abilene Bonds from
city of ABIIEKfhe Brown Crummer Company as per following telegram dated August
BONDS FROM 18th, 1933s
BROWN CRUMMER CO.
’’Dallas, Texas
Hon. Victor Womack
City Commissioner, Abilene, Texas
We confirm sale to you Fifteen Thousand City of Abilene Four
and three fourths Percent bonds described as follows: Two Thousand
Street Improvement due February Fifteenth Fifty One. Two Thousand
Due February Fifteenth Fifty Three; Nine Thousand Waterworks Due
February Fifteenth Fifty Three; Two Thousand Waterworks due
February Fifteenth Fifty One at Sixty Five and Accrued Interest.
Bonds will be delivered in next few days.
The Brown Crummer Company.”

APPROVAL OF

BOND OFCommissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
approving the bonds of Miss Ida Lillian Miller and Ray S. Cann efax
MILLER & R. S .of $1,000.00 each. All Commissioners voted ”Aye”.
CANNEFAX
By motion of Commissioner Wanack, duly seconded and carried,
vouchers approved, Nos. 8421B to 8443B, inC., and payrolls as
PAYROLL APPRO-presented were approved aid Allowed for payment. All Commissioners
VED voted ”Aye”.
VOUCHERS &
VOUCHER FOR PAUPER By motion of Commissioner Womack, duly seconded and carried,
FUND the City Secretary was authorized to issue a voucher ibr $564.56
in favor of the Fifth Class Pauper Fund for one-half the amount >
of warrants approved August 10, 1933. All Commissioners voted ”Aye”.
2 BUFFALOES GIVEN Commissioner Vvomack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
to AMERICAN that The City of Abilene donate the two oldest buffaloes from the
LEGION Zoo to the American Legion to be used as they may see fit.
All Commissioners voted ”Aye”.
TAXES-RELIGIOUS Commissioner Womack made amotion, duly seconded and carried,
& FRATERNAL Authorizing the Tax Collector to request all religious aid fraternal
organizations to valuesfor taxes all their revenue bearing property,
and authorizing the Tax Collector to place on the tax rolls all
revenue bearing property belonging to any religious or fraternal
organization. All Commissioners voted ”Aye”.
FARM RENTAL CONTRACQ'ommissioner Boyd made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
MRS. M. L MCGESPPro vi ng Resolutions authorizing the Mayor to sign a Farm Rental
& G.H .MCGEE Contract with the following: Mrs. Maude Lee McGee and G. H. McGee,
C.M.SIBLEY C. M. Sibley, B. C. Harvey, Phil Jefferies, E. W. Strawhorn,
B .C .HARVEY J. H. Hildreth, R. P. Jefferies, H. B. Richardson, W. T. Dedmon,
PHIL JEFP’ERIESB. J. Jefferies, Jinks McGee & Co., R. P. Jefferies, R. Lee Vinson,
E .W .STRAV/HORN J* M. Kelley and W. L. Lilly. The Resolutions are as follows:
HILDRETH#JEFFERIES WHEREAS, it appears to the best interest of The City of Abilene
RICHARDSON#DEDthat the attached farm rental contract signed by the Lessee be made
MON,JEFFERIES and entered into; aid
MCGEE, JEFFERIES
VINSON,KELLEY WHEREAS, the said contract is hereto attached and made a part
LILLY hereof the same as if written herein:
THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOA RD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF ABILENE:
That the Mayor be and he i s hereby authorized to execute
said contract with the Lessee whose name appears on said contract
Passed and approved this the 18th day of August 1933.
