Chamber of The Board of Conm issioners
City Hall, The City of Abilene, Texas
The Board of Commissioners of The City of Abilene, Texas met
in regular session Friday August 25, 1933 at three o! clock P. M.
with Mayor Johnson present and presiding. Commissioners Tittle,
Hale and Boyd were present. Commissioner Womack was absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following Resolution was presented to the Board:
THREE ALTERNATIVE A RESOLUTION OFFERING TO THE TAX PAYERS OF THE CITY OF ABILENE
PLANS FOR PAY*TEXAS THREE ALTERNATIVE PL'NS FOR PAYMENT OF 1933 TAXES AND DIRECTING
MENT OF 1933 THE ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR OF TAXES TO WAIVE ALL PENALTIES AND
TAXES- INTEREST ON ALL DELINQUENT TAXES PAID ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 1, 1933.
ALL PENALTIES &
INTEREST ON WHEREAS, there ia an emergency which requires all due consideration
DELINQ. TAXES tP) tax payers in the payment of their taxes; and
PD . BEFORE DEC.
1, 1933 WAIVED WHEREAS, it appears advisable that tax payers be offered three
alternatives in the payment of their taxes to The City of Abilene,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, it seems that penalties and interest on delinquent
taxes paid on or before December 1, 1933 should be waived;
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
ABILENE:
That tax payers may have either one of three ways to pay their
1933 taxes, towit:
1. They may split the payment of such taxes for 1933 and pay
one half on or before December 1, 1953, and the balance on or be-
fore June 1, 1934.
2. They may pay in five installments, the first to be paid
prior to December 1, 1933 , and the others on the first of January,
February, March and April 1934.
3. They may follow the old plan set forth in the Charter and
the rule of general law prior to recent legislative enactmaits
whereby the whole of the ttaxes due may be paid on or before January
31, 1934.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF ABILENE:
That all penalties and interest on all delinquent taxes paid
on or before December 1, 1933 be and the same are hereby waived.
Passed and approved this the 2fith day of August 1933.

Commissioner Tittle made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
that the above Resolution be adopted. All Commissioners voted ,fAyew.
VOUCHERS & Commissioner Hale made a notion, duly seconded and carried,
PAYROLL approving for payments all vouchers Nos. 8444 B to 8450 B and
APPROVED Nos. 850GL B to 8565 B, inclusive, and payrolls as presented.
All Commissioners voted "Aye”.
By motion of Commissioner Tittle, duly seconded and carried,
the meeting was adjourned. All Commissioners voted "Aye”.
