Chamber Board of Commissioners
City Hall, City of Abilene, Texas
The Board of Commissioners of The City of Abilene met in regular
session Friday July 24, 1931 with Mayor York present and presiding.
Commissioners' present, Johnson, Sammons, Womack and Morrison.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Commissioner Johnson made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
that J. E. Williams be granted a Dairy Permit. All Commissioners
voted "Aye".
VACATION AUTHORIZED Commissioner Sammons made a motion, duly seconded andcarried,
HEPRY SANDERS that Mr. Henry Sanders of the Water Department be granted a vacation
beginning July 27th, 1931. All Commissioners voted "Aye".
PAYROLL & VOUCHERS Commissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
APPROVED that all payrolls presented and approved for payment and all vouchers
Nos. 2567 B*to 2594 B, inclusive be allowed and ordered paid. All
Commissioners voted "Aye".
IGNATION OF E .0 . Commissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
RYBERRY -that the resignation of E. 0. Derryberry be accepted effective
July 26, 1931. All Commissioners voted "Aye".
The Following Resolutionwas read before the Board:

Resolution authorizing the Mayor to Execute

Quit-Claim Deed
Whereas, Cress W. Watson and Major Daniel have negotiated to
buy certain city property as described in the field notes prepared by
H. J. Bradshaw, City Engineer,dated July 20th, 1931, and shown in a
deed to which this resolution is attached: and
Whereas, it appears that the city should give a quit-claim deed
to the property reserving 25 feet off the south side thereof for a
street:
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved By the Board of Commissioners of
The City of Abilene, Texas, that the Mayor be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a quit-claim deed to said property reserving
a 25 foot strip off the south aide thereof for street purposes.
Passed and approved this the 24th day of July 1931.

Approved as to form before passage: H. L, DsBusk, Corporation Counsel.
By motion of Commissioner Womack, duly seconded and carrieg, the
foregoing resolution was adopted. All Commissioners voted "Aye .
The Following Resolution was read before the Board:
FARM RENTAL CONTRACT
J. W. VINSON
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A FARM RENTAL
CONTRACT WITH J. W. VINSON
WHEREAS, J. W. Vinson has proposed to rent and farm 225 acres of
land owned by The City of Abilene, Texas known as the Booth farm in
Taylor Co., Texas for a money rent of $225.00 payable on Jan. 1, 1932,
as shown by the form contract hereto attached and made a part hereof;
and
WHEREAS, it seems most feasible that such a contract should be made
and entered into and that same Is for the best interests of The City of
Abilene and its inhabitants:
^Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved By The Board of Commissioners of
The City of Abilene, Texas that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with J. W. Vinson as set forth and attached and
made part hereof.
Passed and approved this the 24th dsy of July 1931.

Approved as to form before passage: H. L. DeBusk, Corporation Counsel.
By motion of Commissioner Sammons, duly seconded and carried, the
above resolution was adopted. All Commissioners voted "Aye".

GOVT POST CARDS .Abilace Printing & Stationery Company was awarded the contract for printing
ABILENE PRINTING Gov't Post cards for $9.00 per 6 All Commissioners voted "Aye",
