3T. and electric services for June for $3,471.01 and instructing the City
Secretary to issue vouchers for same. All Commissioners voted "Aye”.
YOR TO ATTEND Commissioner Sammons made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
CONFERENCE IN authorizing the Mayor to attend a conference in Port Worth called by
WORTH the Governor of the State for the Mayors of the State to discuss the
unemployment situation for the coming winter, the City to pay his
expenses. All Commissioners voted "Aye".
GE0 . E. EHRENBORG- By motion of Commissioner Morrison, dulyseconded and carried,
JCHER ISSUED the City Secretary was authorized to issue a warrant No. Two in
-$1500.00 favor of George G. Rhrenborg for $1500.00 as allowed in resolution
adopted by the Board of Commissioners June 12, 1931. All Commissioners
voted "Aye".
SEWER CHG .TO OWNEBSmmissioner Sammons made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
VACANT RES. Morrison to permit owners of vacant residential property to turn on
PROPERTY WHO water, without sewer charge. Commissioners Sammons and Morrison
TURN ON WATER voted "Aye". Commissioners Womack and Johnson voted "No". Mayor
York voted "Aye".
PURCHASE OF 1 MULE By motion of Commissioner Johnson, duly seconded and carried,
'“ROM W ,E. JONESMr. °helton was authorized to purchase ore mule from W. E. Jones for
$120.00 for the Sanitary Department. $11 Commissioners voted "Aye".
The Following Resolution was read before the Board:
AIRPORT-CONCESSION A RESOLUTION CANCELLING A RESOLUTION PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE
CONTRACT TO 26TH DAY OF JUNE 1931 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONCESSION COft-
E .S .STEWART & TRACT WITH E. S. STEWART, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A SIMILAR
R. W. RUCKER CONTRACT WITH H. W. RUCKER.
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of June 1931 a resolution was passed by
the Board of Commissioners of I1 he City of Abilene, Texas authorizing
the Mayor to execute a concession contract for the Airport with
E. S. Stewart; and
Whereas, E. S. Stewart has never executed said contract and
declines to do so for certain reasons that seem feasible; and
Whereas, it appears that H. W. Rucker is willing to take over
the contract and has agreed to do so and it seems most feasible to the
City that such contract be made and entered into with the said
H. W. Rucker:
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved By The Board of Commissioners of
The City of Abilene, Texas that the Mfcyor be and he is hereby authorised
to e xecute a concession contract for the airport with H. W. Rucker.
Passed and approved this the 24th day of July 1931.

VING-BUTTERNUT ST.RESOLUTION APPROVING ENGINEER’S STATEMENT WITH REFERENCE TO
DM S . 9th TO S. IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF BUTTERNUT STREET, FINALLY DET2R-
th. MINING TO ASSESS A PART OF THE COST OF SUCH IMPROVEMENTS
AGAINST THE OWNERS OF ABUTTING PROPERTY AND THEIR PROPERTY
AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE AND HEARING TO OWNERS OF ABUTTING
PROFERTY AND TO ALL OTHERS INTERESTED.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of The City of Abilene, Texas
has heretofore ordered that Butternut Street, in the City of Abilene,
from its intersection with the N6rth Line of South Fourteenth Street
to its intersection with the South line of ^outh Ninth Street, be im-
proved by raising, grading and filling same and installing concrete
curbs and gutters and paving same, and specifications were prepared,
filed and adopted, and after due advertisement, bids were received and
contract therefor let to West Texas Construction Company for the making
and constructing of the said improvements with Warrenite Bitulithic
Surface pavement on Portland Cement concrete base, as fully detailed
