City Hall, City of Abilene, Texas
The Board of Commissioners of the City of Abilene met in regular^ ses-
sion Friday July 31, 1931 with Mayor York present and presiding. Commissioners
present, Johnson, Sammons, Womack andl Morrison.
The minutes of the p?evious meeting were read and approved.
VACATION AUTHQRIZEDBy motion of Commissioner Johnson, duly seconded and carried, Mr.

D WOODARDD. Woodard of the Police Department was granted a vacation beginning
August 3, 1931. All Commissioners voted "Aye".
LIS PAID FOR Commissioner Sammons made a motion, duly seconded and carried,
CURING authorizing the City Secretary to issue a voucher for the sum of $10.00
CR EASEMENT'at of the General ^und in favor of T. M. Willis for work in securing
Sewer easement. All Commissioners voted "Aye .
PAT‘ROLL 8r VOUCHERS By motion of Commissioner Womack, duly se con ded a .unearned, all
APPROVED payrolls presented and approved for payment and all iyouehers Nos.^SoOo B
to 2664 B, inclusive, were allowed and ordered paid. All Commissioners
voted "Aye".
VACATION AUTHORIZEDCommissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried, that
STEVE WILLIAMS^&cations be granted to Steve Williams for one week, beginning August 1,
'and to Mrs, Eunice H. Lee for one week,beginning August 3, 1931. All
Commissloners voted "Aye".
The Following Resolution was read before the Board:
PARKS-MOVING PICTUK0RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TIE MAYOR PROTEM TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
SHOW JACK CAMPBELL FOR FREE MOVING PICTURE SHOWS AT THE CITY PARKS.

Whereas, Jack Campbell has proposed to operate free picture shows m
the City parks without expense to the City; and
Whereas, it is deemed that such shows can result in no harm and that
they will be, if properly operated, a wholesome entertainment for the
citizens of the City; and
Whereas, the agreement to which this resolution is attached and made
a oar t of same seems to the best advantage to the city and its inhabitants.
Now, Therefore, Be It resolved By The Board of Commissioners of The
City of Abilene, Texas that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with said Jack Campkell as set forth in the drafted
instrument hereto attached and made part hereof.
Passed and approved this the 31st day of July 1931.

AT AIRPORT that Mr. Joe Wright be appointed as mechanichat the Airport at a salary
EMPLOYED of $90,00 per month. All Commissioners voted "Aye".
