The Following Ordinance was read before the Board
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING ORDINANCE REGULATING MOVING PICTURE SHOWS, TALKING MOVING
MOVING PICTURE SHOWS PICTURE SHOWS, AND THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES IN THE CITY OF
ETC. ABILENE, TEXAS.
B y motion of Commissioner Johnson, duly seconded by Commissioner
Morrison, the above Ordinance was passed on its first reading.
Commissioners Johnson, Morrison and Sammons voted uAye’r. Commissioner
Womack and Mayor York voted ”Non .
Commissioner Womack made a motion, duly seconded and carried, that
the bond for $1000.00 of W. I. Scudder, be approved. All Commissioners
voted uAyen.
The following Resolution was read before the Board
RESOLUTION ACCEPTINGRESOLUTION ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS ON A PORTION OF BUTTERNUT
IMPROV.OF BUT-AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY SECRETARY TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES.
TERNUT ST.& AUTH.
ISSUANCE OF CERTI-
FIGATES WHEREAS
STREET
contract for the making and constructing of street improve
ments, consisting among other things of Warrenite Bitulithic pavement,
with concrete curbs and gutter, etc., on a portion of Butternut Street
was entered into with West Texas Construction Company and assessments
were levied against abutting property and the owners thereof, and said
improvements have been completed of said street between the North line
of South Fourteenth Street and the South line of South Ninth Street, and
have been inspected.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF ABILENE, THAT:
Said improvements on Butter nut Street, between said limits, be and the
sarne are hereby accepted.
The Mayor and City Secretary, he, and they are directed to execute
in the name of the City and deliver to West Texas Construction Company
certificates of special assessments in evidence of the assessments levied
against the property abutting on said street, between said limits, and
against the owners of such property.
This resolution shall not in anywise affect the liability of said
Company and its sureties to complete and carry out said contract as to
the remaining portions of the said street embraced in said contract.
This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after
Passed and approved this 16th day of October 1931
