The Following Resolution was read before the Board:
A RESOLUTION SUBSTANTIATING THE ALLEGATIONS OF A PETITION FILED
BY THE CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE FISH, GAME, AND OYSTER COMMISSION TO
TAKE LAKE ABILENE OUT OF TIE STATE GAME PRESERVE.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners heretofore directed the City
Attorney to file a petition with the Fish, Game, and Oyster Commission
praying for the taking out of tine State Game Preserve Lake Abilene,
stating therein the reasons therefor; and
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners are of the unanimous opinion
that keeping the lake in the Game Preserve is a handicap to rthe
governing body of the City because there is no good purpose to be
served by keeping it in the Game preserve and further the Board of
Commissioners are in fact held accountable for the sanitation of
the lake; and
Whereas, the said Board of Commissioners feel that the lake is
probably being contaminated by wild ducks, geese, and other wild
fowls that wade in the sewere by night and swim on the lake by day;
Therefore, Be It Resolved that the said Lake shou3.d and of right
ought to be taken out of the State Game Preserve and that the alle-
gations in the petition filed by the City Attorney be and they are
