The ACU Symphonic Band
Concert Band A Cappella Chor-
us University Chorale Per-
cussion Ensemble and Jazz En-
semble will perform this week
offering a musical break for Lec-
tureship guests and students.
To begin the week of musical
bliss the Concert and Symphon-
ic bands will join forces Sunday
at 8:45 p.m. in Cullen Auditor-
ium. The performance will Include
movements one three and five of
thcLord of the Rings symphony.
The Symphonic Band is directed
by Blane Hinton assistant profes-
sor of music.
The Concert Band Is directed
by Eric Wilson instructor of
music.
On Monday University Chorale
and A Cappella chorus will per-
form a joint concert at 8:30 p.m.
in Cullen Auditorium.
They will sing various selections
of gospel and classical a cappella
music. ACU choruses arc under
the direction of Dr. Mike Scar-
brough assistant professor of
music.

Auditorium.
The Jazz Ensemble Is directed
by Wilson; the percussionists are
led by Dr. Allen Teel assistant
professor of music.
Although most of the numbers
will be jazz "some of the tunes
have a more blues gospel-type
feeling" said bass player Colin
Peden freshman biology and
English major from Framing-
ham Mass.
The Intercollegiate Orchestra
will perform opera and classical
pieces Wednesday at "8:30 p.m. In
Cullen Auditorium.
It is directed by Celeste Myall of
Hardin-Simmons University.
Four concerts will be presented by
the Music Department Feb. 16-19.
Admission is free.

Lectureship Chapel speakers highlighted

Monday -
Brent McCall class of 92 Is a Ph.D. candi-
date in intercultural communication at the
University of New Mexico In Albuquerque.
He serves as the director of UNM Christian
Student Center. McCall was a co-valedictorian
of his graduating class and was the execu-
tive president of die Students' Association.
He received his masters degree In biblical and
related studies from ACU in 1995. He also
served as campus minister for the Southern
Hills Church of Christ from 1993-1995.
Tuesday -
Walt Leaver graduate of David Lipscomb
University serves as the director of alumni
and church relations and the Business Advi-
sory Council at Lipscomb. Since February
1976 Leaver has served as the pulpit minis
ter for the Antioch Church of Christ in
Nashville.
Wednesday -
Apollos Maxwell graduate of Southwestern
Christian College in Terrell has served as the
youth minister for the Dellcrest Church of
Christ In San Antonio. Previously he worked
as the pulpit minister for the Watkins Road
Church of Christ in Columbus Ohio. He
received a master's degree from ACU in 1991.
