go on weekend spring break and
summer outreach trips to .church-
es and children's homes.
Furthermore the Davidsons
have led more than 200 students
on 14 mission trips to Asia.

Royce Money uni-
versity president said
"Only the Lord knows
the amount of good
these two wonderful
people have done for
the sake of the
Kingdom. Their min-
istry has spanned con-
tinents and Genera
tions and it truly knows no
bounds. They epitomize the spir-
it of the Christian Service Award
by the way they have taught us to
live."
In the '60s the Davidsons were
missionaries in Thailand for
approximately seven years.
Both he and Myrt served active-
ly at ACU during their under-
graduate years. Bob was presi-
dent of the Students' Association
and Myrt served as SA secretary
the following year. Bob also was a
linebacker on the 1950 undefeat
ed untied Wildcat
football team.
"What I've tried
td do in campus min-
istry is to train lead-
ers patterning my
ministry after Jesus"
Bob said. "Jesus chose
leaders sent them
out let them make
mistakes confided in
them. This is what I've
been doing for some
30-plus years just saying 'Do
what I'm trying to do.'"
Gene Stalllngs ACU trustee
and former head football coach at
the University of Alabama will
present the tribute to Bob and
Myrt during the ceremony. Bob
had baptized and married
Stalllngs and his wife Ruth.
"Bob and Myrt are two of the
most outstanding people 1 know"
Stalllngs said. "Our doors backed
up to each other when I coached
at Texas A&M. I don't know any-
one who has had more of an
Impact on more people than Bob.
"Hes sort of a pied piper: peo-
ple love to be around him an
Myrt Is the same in her special
caring way. She managed the ath-
letic dining hall at A&M for
years and the students just loved
her" Stalllngs said.
Bob and Myrt arc also known
for their frequent trips to the
Pcpperdlnc University Lectures

The recipients of the Parents of the Year award were honored
Saturday afternoon with a luncheon that took place in the east

After a prayer waf said for the meal Steve Rigdcll president of the
Parents Association gave a speech to open the luncheon and read
the letter by Marijoy Phillips junior human communications major

Phillips for the award.

Pennington said "When we picked the Phillips we decided this

and they have done so much for ACU students besides their own."
Ada said it was "quite a surprise" for them to be recognized as the

"We're Just blessed" she said "The gift of a God-centered marriage
