The Quick Road To Results
THE TEXAS STEERS
•A powerful University of Texas
team which has turned out to be
the goat of the conference has lost
many supporters during the past
few weeks. True Texas fans are still
behind the Longhorn eleven, but at
the same time there are many who
would have witnessed ttye Texas-
Aggie clash on Thanksgiving Day
who are now no longer interested.
Texas must win over Baylor, and
T. C. U. in succession if the Texas-
A. & M. game draws a record crowd
again this year. The Steers have the
power but they are unable to use it.
Txeas. boasts too many individual
stars, and each one of these indi-
vidual stars has been playing a
garble for himself, and nqt for Tex-
as. That, apparently, is what is
wrong with Texas.
The Aggies are found in the op-
posite light. They were doped to
lose the majority of their games
this year, and yet records show
them to be one of the strongest of-
fensive teams in the conference. de-

GObBLEJiS AND SANDdRfiBS
TJiere is much speculation in
Cuero today regarding the outcome
of Friday s game between the Cuero
High Gobblers and the Port Lavaca
Sand Crafcp. The matter is simple.
The Gohhieia must play bang up
football if they are to win. this
game. Port Lavaca has one of the
strongest defensive teams in the
district, and boasts no poor offense.
Pott Lavaca held the Yorktown
Yellow} ackets to a 7 to 0 victory
just after Yorktown had battled
Victoria to an almost scoreless tie.

It is generally agreed that the
Sharkey-Camera thriller on Col-
umbus Day night did much to re-
kindle fan interest in boxing. Al-
though the American champion
gave the Italian giant a , dreadful
beating- during the last seven of
their 15 round bout, it was a nerve-
tingler throughout and helped prove
two things: <L) Sharkey is a truly
great ring man when right; (2) Car-
nera is not a fraud nor a mere
freak; he can box, has extraordinary
courage, remarkable stamina and
may—if he learns to use his right
for hard blows—become a champion
in a year or two.
Sharkey's impressive victory—}
he gave one of the best exhibitions
of two-fisted, rapid-fire puhofalng
and bead-working seen in many
