Judge Morrow Endorsed
WHEREAS, the term of office of
Judge W. C. Morrow, Chief Justice
of the Court of Criminal Appeals, ex-
pires during the present year; and
WHEREAS, we consider the pres-
ent Court of Criminal Appeals as one
of the very strong, able and distin-
guished courts of our country ; and
WHEREAS, Judge Morrow, being a
courteous gentleman, a man of cour-
age and high integrity, a lawyer of
rare attainment and marked ability,

sary to make a great judge, and

do the work necessary to land her in
office; and the people will never re-
gret it.
We call on the nun and wom^n
voters of our county to reward her
with a handsome majority at the
primary election.
Mrs. Louis Poth.
(Political Advertisement.),
the bar of DeWitt County. Texas,
hereby earnestly urge Judge Morrow
not mentioned by him at all. He
calls Mr. Montgomery “the best
available man-for the job;” and a lit-
tle further on he says: *,He thinks
first are the ■ children of our
country, and then of himself per-
haps.” Now why the “Perhaps?”
Service, not self, should be the motto
of every public servant. In the
performance of official duty self
should not be the thought of even
perhaps. Mr. McCormick does pay
Mrs. Green the cold courtesy of a
passing glance by faintly commend-
ing her for the high standards and
educational qualifications. He then
launches into extravagant praise for
Mr. Montgomery.
Those who know Mrs. Green best
claim that she is fully equal to Mr.
Montgomery in education and
mental equipment, and superior to
him in tact, friendliness, and an un-
derstanding of the needs of our ru I
ral schools. She has been a county•
school teacher and a good one, as;

little woman. She is in the contest
with a man for an opponent. She
has met Ihe voters, both men and
women, with a smile of assuring con-
fidence, and they feel and know that
she would make a splendid official.
And now in the closing hours of
this campaign these two chivalrous
(?) southern gents. Messrs. Egg and
McCormick, have taken their trusty
pens in hand and rushed into the
lists to help out the man, Mr. Mont-
gomery, in his contest with this
brave and deserving little lady, Mrs.
Mollie Green. Does Mr. Montgom-
ery need the help of other men In
his trial of strength with a lone wo-
man? This is the first time any one
has. written a newspaper article in
her behalf, and this tribute to her
womanly merit is purely defensive.
