Description: Mary Lou Burford from Girl Scout Troop 15 gives books to Emily Fowler and the Denton City/County Public Library, that has been furnished by the Girl Scout Council. Emily Fowler served as librarian of the public library from 1943 until January 1, 1969, and as librarian emeritus until her retirement on October 15, 1969.

[Cable-Suspension Ceiling of the Denton Civic Center]

Description: Photograph of the cable-suspension ceiling designed by Texas architect, O'Neil Ford, inside the Denton Civic Center. Lights are attached to an intricate structure of pipes and cables which support the ceiling. In the background, a curved walking path and railing are visible on an upper floor, above a window. This photo appeared in the Saturday, November 19, 1967, edition of the Denton Record-Chronicle, which advertised the "open house" of the Community Center that weekend.
