IOOF Building in Paris

Description: Photograph of the entrance to the Wildey Lodge No. 21 on the east side of the IOOF building located on 1st SW Street in downtown Paris, Texas. On the brick building "cap", there is a a white stone insert with a dual date: "1851 + 1916". Another white stone insert above one entrance says "Wildey Lodge No. 21, I.O.O.F." In early photos, this building was mostly standing but gutted by the 1916 fire and the date medallion reflects the building's continuity.

Sporting Goods Store in Paris

Description: Photograph of the current Williams' Sporting Goods Store (located next to the Plaza Theater) in downtown Paris,Texas. The upper story is the original architecture and displays excellent commercial brick work, carved stone inserts, a white sting course and frieze, and a white stone cap. Plaza Square Building Canopy in Paris, Texas

Description: Photograph of the canopy hangers and chains on the 1927 Plaza Theater building in downtown Paris, Texas. There are white stone medallions surrounding the canopy hanger in the wall. Although previous architecture styles were massive and had massive stone carvings, this Early Art Deco style shows evidence of a move to more modern styles.
