The original roll was copied from Josephus C. Moore's diary which Moore kept from his stations at Camp Trousdale and Fort Donelson to Camp Butler Prison in Illinois. The fourth page has handwritten notes of temperatures in Waxahachie, Texas. These notes appear to have been written after the roll.
