They are waiting for their boxes to arrive, her father says there is too much fright on the road. Abe is going to town to get more information. She wants to purchase land to start a home but Abe hasn't said anything. She also wants to be together. Her father and mother wrote postal cards and she asks that they write back soon.

McCarter and Cason would like to remind Fletcher of upcoming "renewal" sessions for the 1990 and 1991 Institute participants and other art specialists belong to the district. The first event will be held October 19th, at the UNT Art Department to discuss practical ideas on talking with kids about art and ways of introducing art history to children, however, they will be unable to pay the teachers to attend these renewal sessions but a lunch will be provided.

In regards of scheduling a two-week summer institute at the Dallas Museum of Art teachers in the Dallas Independent School District. McCarter is hoping that the DMA could provide a laboratory for the fellows to have a "capstone" experience that would benefit the DMA, NTIEVA, DISD and the Marcus Foundation from such a collaboration. An issue McCarter addresses is finding the money to pay the teachers for attending, possibly a shared cost between the district and NTIEVA, he ends the letter saying many details have to be worked out. A cover sheet is at the end of the faxed letter.

He announces that Sam Thornhill has died. He says the Willy Jones says "the soldiers were all taken to Austin to the inauguration." Both Charles and Mary Moore gave details about family and friends that they have seen or heard from. Charles Moore says that he has stopped drinking coffee and has returned to "good old healthy butter milk."
