This design "is to construct a device which may be secured to horses, cattle, and other animals, and which will effectually prevent fence-jumping, while at the same time allow the animal free use of [its] head and limbs, doing away with any tendency to cramp the wearer" (lines 17-23). It consists, "with bar and a means for suspending it beneath the animal's body and the bar, which is secured at its outer end to the animal's head, of a hinge to the opposite side of which the adjacent ends of the said bars are pivoted" (lines 78-83).
Patent for an improved animal trap for “catching small animals in a trap which will be ever set and in operative position for catching an animal and which will be automatically reset” (lines 10-13), illustration is included.
Patent for the lower set of artificial teeth, "and aims to provide retainers and combine them with the plate, so as to hold the denture in place against accidental displacement during the process of articulation, prehension, mastication, and deglutition" (lines 10-15). Patent for an autographic register that provides "improved means for guiding, stamping, cutting, and filling a record-bill and discharging original and duplicate bills; [provides] improved means for guiding the strips of paper and holding the carbon or duplicating paper in operative position; furthermore, [provides] improved means for operating the several parts of the mechanism to insure accuracy and facilitate the subsequent permanent filing of the record-bills" (lines 9-19).
Patent for an improved automatic gate with levers, cam-blocks, camways, and cam-rods. It is centrally pivoting, uses a pulley, a cam groove, a forked bearing, chains, and chords.
Patent for improvements in bank-protectors by “providing doors, windows, and other openings with suitable metallic shields that may be readily placed in position by a slight movement of the hand or foot of the operator” (lines 19-23), illustration is included.
Patent for a bank-protector that consists of vertically moving shields arranged just within the cashier's and teller's windows and the outer door of the bank, and a mechanism that allows the cashier to drop the shields and sound an alarm. Illustrations included.
Patent for an improvement to mechanical calculators by providing the "means for facilitating the addition of successive numbers of the same or different denominations, and also for subtracting and multiplying the same by substantially the means employed in adding" (lines 10-14). Patent for a novel, simple, and practical car coupling that has a link and gravity pin. It "may be set to coupe two of the improved couplings on approaching cars, when these devices engage each other, and also that may be manipulated by the usual lever or chain attachment to uncouple two connected drawheads, effecting such a detachment from the sides or roof of the car" (lines 12-19).
Patent for improvements in car-couplings by using a combination of “a rod pivoted at its front end to the side of the draw-head and pivotally connected at its rear end..... when the draw-head is driven to the rear by the force of the blow received in coupling with another draw-head, the lug will be pressed to the front,” (lines 30-40) illustration is included.
Patent for a simple, inexpensive, and compact check-punch that can be operated by one hand and doesn't take much power to operate. The machine consists of two movable members, "one of which carries all of the male and the other all of the female dies, said members being so related that when moved relatively to each other in one direction all the male dies move as a single member...and enter the female dies, and when moved in the opposite direction all of said male dies are withdrawn" (lines 12-20).
Patent for an improvement in a churn-dasher by constructing the head of a dasher with a series of spirally-slanting blades, the front and rear edges are curved inward forming vertical openings with lancet-shaped ends. So that it would meet with less resistance when churning with the upward stroke.
Patent for combination-plow by providing a plow with “interchangeable parts, whereby the same may be used as a double-foot plow, a middle-breaking plow adapted for deep and shallow running and a sweep-stock” (lines 10-13), includes illustration.

Patent for a dish cleaner that consists of an oscillating vessel where dishes are placed, which goes inside another vessel. The inner vessel has openings so the water can go in and out while cleaning dishes, and the vessel is hand-turned by a crank on the top of the machine.
Patent for a simple and practical fence-wire stretcher that stretches "fence-wire in the construction of fences and also taking up the slack in the wire when it sags at any point throughout the line of fence, the device being simple in construction and easily connected and disconnected from the post, as circumstances require" (lines 14-20).
Patent for a simple and efficient fire-grate that is meant "to be set in a wall between two rooms and capable of being reversed to enable either room to be directly heated by a fire" (lines 11-13).
Patent for a flour-bin that keeps the flour and meal separated and sifts them separately. This patent has "a novel formation of a stirrer to prevent the banking of the flour or meal in the bin, and which can be cheaply manufactured and when in use will offer a minimum amount of resistance to the contents of the bin agitated thereby" (lines 16-21). The bin is easily cleaned.
Patent for frames for trunks, boxes, vehicle-bodies, etc., which requires no bolts and can be cast in a single piece of metal. Includes instructions and illustrations.
Patent for a gas generator "which will be entirely automatic in its action so long as the supply of oil is kept up and thereby render the use of weights and winding apparatus unnecessary." (Lines 21-24) Includes instructions and illustrations.
Patent relating to "a new and useful improvement in gearing for bicycles and the like, and has for its object to so construct and arrange a device of this description as to avoid sudden shocks or jars which are occasioned by unevenness in the road-bed over which the machine is traveling, and also to enable the rider to exert a sudden force upon the pedals without straining the framework or wheels of the machine" (lines 9-18).
Patent for improvements in grain conveyers by using a slotted platform with parallel walls on the sides, a conveyer-block having arms and friction-rollers that is moved by an endless chain in between the walls, a lever keyed on a shaft and two gears in constant mesh with each other; all these parts working together to creating a mechanism that drives the conveyers in either direction to accomplish the binding of the grains. Patent for a new and improved handcar. This design "is to provide for hand-cars a motive power which will produce a high rate of speed and which will enable a hand-car to be propelled in either direction without necessitating turning the car end for end" (lines 9-14). It consists of "an opening in its platform disposed over one of the axles, a rectangular casing arranged over the opening, a drive-shaft journaled in the sides of the casing, a train of gears consisting of cog-wheels and pinions connecting the drive-shaft and the axle, and the crank-handles arranged at the ends of the drive-shaft" (lines 64-71).
Patent for improvements in hand-stamps which “comprised a polygonal block or disk having some of its edges provided with rubber type-strips securely fastened thereto, its other edges cut away to form shoulders, spring-metal guides or holders secured the cut-away portions, and type-strips removably secured in the guides or holders,” (lines 75-82); includes illustration.
