Car Brake.

Description: Patent for a new and improved car-brake. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the transverse beam of the truck, of the levers pivoted to the under side of the same, the brake-shoes, the pitmen connecting the brake-shoes with the levers, the straps secured to the beam, the retaining-rods having their ends pivoted to the pitmen and the straps, and devices for operating the levers" (lines 94-101).
