Car Coupling.

Description: Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in a link-guide support "pivoted to the underside of the car, the link-guide pivoted to the front end of the support, the spring arranged between the guide and the support, the yoke secured to the car, and the spring supported by said yoke and bearing against the link-guide support" (lines 1-6).

[Notification of land rights, January 2, 1847]

Description: Document by Castro notifying the colonists that Huth is the legal owner of only the land his house occupies and an additional 40 acres across the river and therefore has no right to sell, rent or transfer any other property. He goes on to list their financial disagreement and states that a court hearing will decide who the debtor really is. Signed Hr. Castro on January 2, 1847 in Castroville.
