Window-Shade Raiser.

Description: Patent for an improved way of raising, lowering, and locking window shades into place. "The operating-cord passes over a pulley located between two larger disks, one of which is screwed toward the other by a spring to clamp the folds of the cord and is screwed in the opposite direction by means of a lever, upon which the chord itself acts when drawn in the proper direction" (lines 14-20).

Description: Patent for a trunk that is usual except for its multiple trays, "a series of levers connecting the trays, and a second series of levers connecting the first-mentioned series of levers with the trunk-lid" (lines 56-59). Leg-Protector.

Description: Patent for leg-protectors or overalls for cotton-pickers to wear to protect them from the ground. Waterproof material covers the legs of the wearer with leather reinforcement outside the knees. There is spacing around the waste for a belt, and regular fabric forms the rest of the overalls.

Ironing-Table.

Description: Patent for a simple and durable ironing table that is sturdy when in use and can be folded when not in use. The table is hinged to and held up by a vertical piece of wood. Two sets of legs cross and are centrally pivoted together, one being stopped by the vertical board. When not in use, the table swings up and rests on the board.
