Description: Postcard image of pack mules being moved along by U.S. Army Troops. This is a residential neighborhood somewhere in modern day central El Paso, Texas; however the neighborhood's location is not exactly known. In the background, there are several troops following on horseback. And behind the troops on horseback; there is at least one automobile and at least two horse and buggies following along. Description: The postcard caption reads: Mexican prisoners under guard at Fort Bliss. These two U.S. Army soldiers are transporting these men in this open wagon to an unknown location - presumably in the direction of Fort Bliss, Texas. In El Paso, and at the turn of the 20th century; many homes in the outlying areas of the city still did not have plumbing so fresh water had to be delivered daily. Description: Photograph of U.S. Ambulance picking up wounded soldiers on a battlefield. Three unidentified soldiers are placing a wounded soldier onto the field gurney also known as a stretcher or litter. This particular field ambulance was specially modified with supporting hooks so that it could transport up to four loaded field gurneys. The unidentified man in the dark suit and wearing the derby hat is most likely a newsman.
