[Papers Regarding Hubert Kearsley Reese, Jr.]

Description: Collection of photos, letters, and newspaper clippings relating to Herbert Kearsley Reese, Jr., a Naval Aviator during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was assigned to fly B-24 Bombers out of Newfoundland in early 1943 and on June 24, 1943, his aircraft disappeared in the North Atlantic. The letters were written to his uncle, Ewing Caruthers, Jr., and were found after his widow's death along with the newspaper clippings in their attic in 1994.
