Harriss gymnasium undergoing demolition

Description: Photograph of the Harriss Gymnasium being demolished at the North Texas State College in 1956. Built in 1923 as a temporary Administration Building, it was later converted to a gym and unofficially named for Miss Beulah Harriss, the institution's first female coach. The building was demolished between 1954 and 1956 to make room for the new Administration Building, now known as the Hurley Administration Building. The McConnell Memorial Tower is visible in the background.
