Description: Patent for a new and improved car-ventilator. This design consists in "an eduction pipe arranged lengthwise of the car" (lines 103-104). It further consists in a casing "at the end of the pipe, the fan-wheel mounted upon a shaft within said casing, [another] casing arranged adjacent to the [first] casing, a fan-wheel arranged within [a third] casing upon an extension of the shaft, and valves in the eduction pipe, to be opened and closed by the air" (lines 1-7).

Blacking Brush.

Description: Patent for a new and improved blacking brush. This design "relates to an improvement in boot-blacking brushes so disposed that fluid blacking may be used; and to this end [the design] provide[s] a reservoir at one end with a forwardly-projecting tube or nozzle therefrom, the said reservoir having a disk at one side, so that when pressed the liquid will be forced through the nozzle upon the boot" (lines 13-20).

Automatic Car Uncoupler.

Description: Patent for a new and improved car uncoupler. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a coupling adapted to hold two cars together, of an uncoupler comprising a lever pivotally connected to the car, a weight supported on the car and connected to said lever, and a connection between the weight-operated lever and the coupling for operating it, to separate the cars upon the dropping of the weight" (lines 4-11).
