[Spectacular Fire on East Hickory, 1942]

Description: Photograph of firemen battling a two-alarm fire at the 200 block of East Hickory Street. Several water hoses are being used and strewn across the ground. Fire Chief Eugene Cook and his men can be seen fighting the flames while several onlookers are in the street. The origin of the flame was undetermined. Denton Fire Station No.4 at Kings Row and Sherman Drive Under Construction

Description: Construction of the fire station at 2116 E. Sherman Drive. The walls have been put up, but the roof has only been framed. A shirtless man is inside of the building to the far left working and construction materials dot the yard outside of the station. Description: Exterior view of the City of Denton Fire Department and City Hall on West Oak Street between Cedar and Bolivar Streets. This was the fourth fire station in Denton and the department moved there in 1890. There are a number of unidentified men standing in front of fire station along with a horse-drawn hook and ladder wagon and a horse-drawn chemical wagon. The two white horses were Nip and Tuck. The ladder wagon was pulled by black and white horses, George and Henry.
