Car-Coupling.

Description: Patent for an inexpensive, simple, and efficient improved twin-jaw coupling that couples automatically and easily uncouples. Operators do not need to go between cars to uncouple the cars. "A further object of the invention is in the operation of uncoupling to open the knuckle after releasing the same in order to have the knuckle in position predatory to coupling" (lines 16-19).

Gate.

Description: Patent for an improved farm gate that pivots in its center and can be swung in either direction. It is operated by a pull chord and levers. The pull chords are set on posts on either side of the gate, each side having two chords in order to open the gate in either direction. The posts also act as a brace to stop the gate from swinging further.
