[Transcript of bond originally held by Peter M. Hughes, November 2, 1836]

Description: Copy of transcript for a bond for a piece of land originally sold to Peter M. Hughes by John Austin on behalf of Stephen F. Austin on March 17, 1833. The bond was then transferred from Hughes to J. Vaughan on December 20, 1833. Ownership of the bond was eventually transferred to Josiah T. Harrell and Leman Kelay who cancelled the bond and obtained a deed for the land on November 2, 1836.

Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from Stephen F. Austin to the Political Chief of Béxar informing the chief of how a meeting of Texas colonists went, commenting that he did not pass along the chief's comments to the Ayuntamiento, and expressing that he does not see how the colonists meeting violates the constitution.
