[A culvert]

Description: Photograph of a culvert underneath a paved road. The area around the edge of the road has been excavated so that the side of the edge of the pavement and the space underneath is visible. The dirt that was excavated from this area is in piles on each side of the image on top of the road. Sticking out of these piles are planks of lumber, and on the left side of the image there is a lantern hanging off of the plank.
