He asks where Sayles plans to build the railroad and states his opinion that it should run through the center of Callahan County, instead of farther north.

The lower or Oplin line is mention as being urged by the Sweetwater people, but the writer decided against going that way.

Those who have not signed only desire small amounts of money for their land. Irvin states that he believes Abilene will not get the central road on this railway and their people have little faith in that changing. Irvin states in postscript that he knows of a small ranch for Sayles' son to buy and make money on.
