Description: Copy negative of a group of men standing in front of a train. According to accompanying information, the train is identified as a Mexican train by the name of "Nor-Oeste de Mexico." The locomotive is identified as the Ferrocarril del Noroeste which primarily ran between the Mexican states Sonora and Sinaloa. A uniformed soldier stands at the front of the engine.

Description: Photograph of General John J. Pershing and fellow army servicemen on horseback in formation. The group appears to be part of a presentation of some sort. In the background, automobiles are lined up from side to side, indicating Pershing and staff has an audience. In the far distance, the outline of the Franklin Mountains is visible. A note on the back of the photo states that this photo of Pershing was taken on his first visit to El Paso after WWI in 1920.

Description: Photograph of a group of Mexican revolutionaries posing for a photograph. All the rebels but one, a man lying on the ground, are holding a rifle. The man on the ground is holding a sack and a utensil. Most of the rebels are holding their rifles as if ready to fire, but the man fourth from the left in the back row has his by his side. The group had the photo taken at their camp. Near the bottom right hand corner, remnants of a fire are visible, along with plates, cups, and a large bowl.

[Anglo Revolutionaries]

Description: Photograph of a group of Anglo revolutionaries and a few Mexican revolutionaries. The man kneeling down on the right side of the photo appears to be cooking. The Mexican Revolution prompted foreign volunteers to participate in the revolution for a variety of reasons. Many volunteers were called to action in the name of adventure, while others reported to duty as mercenaries. The tall man with a beard, standing directly behind the man hunched over, is said to have been known as American Slim. more
