Abilene home of Colonel James Harrison Parramore

Description: Copy negative of the home of Colonel James Harrison Parramore, who passed away in 1917. The home, located in the 700 block of Orange Street, bound by Beech, North 7th, and Parramore Street, has two levels, a porch and balcony, and many decorative accents. The property was destroyed by a fire and the entire block was never rebuilt. The site later became a historic district.

Annual Occupation Tax Recepit Number 230

Description: Occupation tax receipt given to P. B. Bundick of Matagorda County, Texas for his occupation of Ferryman. Mr. Bundick paid ten dollars for both a state and county tax. The transaction was confirmed by the comptroller of public accounts, whose signature can be seen on the bottom left corner.
