Toque

Description: Toque of black velvet. The circular, domed crown is of black velvet. The black velvet brim at sides and front folds up around crown, and is gathered ruched/shirred to form horizontal "tucks" around the crown. At front of hat the brim extends somewhat higher than back. At sides and front of hat are black netting veil. Hat is lined in black fabric. Hat has an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. There are no designer's, maker's, or retailer's labels in the hat.

The high, conical crown is designed like a beehive hairdo, with an under-structure of stiffened black net over which is set a black velvet tubular band in an open spiral from the top down. Hat

Description: Hat of deep yellow silk flowers. Formed on a stiffened white mesh, the hat consists of a cylindrical, flat-topped crown surrounded by a narrow brim. The entire surface is covered with small deep yellow silk flowers. The underside of the brim is faced with same flowers, while the crown and inner-most section of the brim are unlined. The crown has an inner off-white grosgrain ribbon hatband. No labels.
