[John H. Reagan Statue in Reagan Park]

Description: Photograph of a statue of John H. Reagan that resides in Reagan Park in Palestine. Statue was created by Pompeo Coppini originally commission in 1906 by the Daughters of the Confederacy. The statue was eventually placed on a base that had been moved from Avenue A to Reagan Park and the completed project was dedicated 1911.

Description: Statue of John H. Reagan that resides in the Reagan Park in Palestine. This statue, along with the additional statue at the base of the pedestal, were created by Pompeo Coppini. It was originally commissioned in 1906 and was finally dedicated in 1911. The other statue is meant to recognize the "Lost Cause of the Confederacy"

Description: Photo of a Citizen of the Republic of Texas Marker dedication for Rev. Daniel Parker, which was held during the Texas Sesquicentennial at the Pilgrim Cemetery, Elkhart, Texas. He was a Pioneer Baptist Minister who was born in Virginia on 6 April 1781 and died December 3, 1844. His wife was Patsy Dixon Parker, who was born January 17, 1784 and died December 1, 1846. [Watering Trough on Avenue A]

Description: In 1895, Caldwell Green felt Palestine's horses needed more attention, so he built a watering trough on Avenue A in downtown Palestine. This trough, with his name and the date, is still there, but now contains a flower garden. At one time after this picture was made, it sported the figure of a child on a dolphin in the center of the fountain.
