Description: Photograph of a group of Mexican revolutionaries posing for a photograph. All the rebels but one, a man lying on the ground, are holding a rifle. The man on the ground is holding a sack and a utensil. Most of the rebels are holding their rifles as if ready to fire, but the man fourth from the left in the back row has his by his side. The group had the photo taken at their camp. Near the bottom right hand corner, remnants of a fire are visible, along with plates, cups, and a large bowl.

[Anglo Revolutionaries]

Description: Photograph of a group of Anglo revolutionaries and a few Mexican revolutionaries. The man kneeling down on the right side of the photo appears to be cooking. The Mexican Revolution prompted foreign volunteers to participate in the revolution for a variety of reasons. Many volunteers were called to action in the name of adventure, while others reported to duty as mercenaries. The tall man with a beard, standing directly behind the man hunched over, is said to have been known as American Slim. more

[Group of Insurrectos]

Description: Photograph of a group of insurrectos resting. These insurrectos were photographed taking a coffee and cigarette break (in the bottom center of the photo, mugs and pitchers are visible). Most of the group is sitting down, while a few insurrectos are standing. Most of the insurrectos have their rifles in their hands. The vast majority of the insurrectos in the group are men of middle age, or older, the two insurrectos at the far left of the photo appear to be mere boys, perhaps teenagers.
