Description: Scrapbook of photographs belonging to Beulah Harriss, a 1914 graduate of the University of Nebraska, who came to Denton to teach at the North Texas State Normal College. She was the first woman to be hired into the athletics department of the school, coaching women's basketball among other sports. Harriss also organized the first Denton Girl Scouts troop in 1919, founded the Green Jackets Club in 1926, and was one of 13 professors from North Texas State Teachers College who started the Denton… more
