Letter from D. W. Kempner to Thomas L. James discussing an issue with a recent purchase of a washing machine without the assistance of James due to an immediate need. Kempner suggests that James write to Kahn & Levy about changing out the machines for one of Sugarlands since he was able to accomplish this for them before with other items. A handwritten equation at the bottom of the letter reads: "123.87 [+] 12.38 [=] 136.25 vs 199.50"
