Minutes of initial meeting of interested citizens pertinent to the "Fair of the America's"

Description: Minutes taken at a meeting held Feb. 15th, 1962, at the Granada Hotel of civic leaders to discuss the idea of hosting a "Fair of the America's" in San Antonio, Texas. Those present expressed enthusiasm for the idea. At this meeting is was agreed that an executive committee be formed to investigate the feasibility of staging such a fair.

Description: Photograph of a portion of San Antonio with an overlay showing the location of HemisFair '68 before construction began. Houses, streets and other buildings that had to be demolished are faintly visible. The HemisFair site occupied 92.6 acres and was located on the edge of downtown San Antonio, Texas.
