Their New Year's Day was beautiful then it got really cold and then it snowed 4 inches the third day. Someone promised to grind the hog meat they had killed, but did not show up because he was sick. Mr. Roddy died before Christmas and Miss Ev is not expected to live much longer. He tells her to write her mother.
