Description: This work provides an account of what the author terms the “heroic defense” of Ciudad Juarez against Pancho Villa’s forces. It also includes correspondence by Villa to the military garrison urging their surrender. Notably, it describes American involvement (and brief incursion into Mexico) and the Mexican embassy’s response to it in El Paso, where the work was published.

[Copy of an Official Communication from Nemesio Salsedo Regarding Military Actions]

Description: Copy of an official communication from Nemesio Salsedo giving notice that troops from Laredo and a large group of Lipans attacked Comanches. According to the rest of the document Salsedo requests that proper dispositions be taken to prevent further attacks and maintain peace with Indians to the North and West.

[Correspondence between Francisco de la Garza and Alberto Maynez]

Description: Correspondence between Francisco de la Garza, alcalde in Laredo, and Alberto Maynez. The first letter is from Maynez, dated March 24, 1824, and says José Ronquillo admits to his debt to Juan Ramos and will pay the debt as soon as possible. de la Garza's response follows the original message and is dated June 5, 1824.
