Description: Letter from Vicente González de Santianés to Captain Tomás Sánchez de la Barrera y Gallardo saying he is sending Ildefonso de la Garza with a sergeant and 25 troops to defend the territory between Laredo and Las Iglesias. As this route is often used by Indians as a road for raids it is to be defended, and more gunpowder will be sent.

Description: Copy of transcript for two letters, written in January 1798. The first, from Delassus de Luziere on January 15, 1798, asks that land belonging to the king be given to an unnamed man because he has proven himself to be a good farmer on land belonging to Mrs. Beauvair. The second, from Zenon Trudeau on January 21, 1798, informs the recipient that he will receive the land he has requested.

[Two Letters to José Ramón Díaz de Bustamente]

Description: Two letters to José Ramón Díaz de Bustamente, one from José Manuel Pérez, and another from Petra Nicolasa de Chávez. Both letters give an account of the recent incidents of the insurrection which is spreading. The first letter is badly torn and stained, and is entirely covered on the outside by pieces of tape; the second letter has a few tears, and is covered with pieces of tape in certain spots.
