Description: Onionskin paper carbon copy of letter from John J. Herrera to Carter Wesley, Editor of The Houston Informer, dated February 2, 1949. This is in reply to Wesley's letter of February 1, 1949, concerning the January 1949 issue of the LULAC News sent by Herrera. Herrera praises the work of the NAACP on behalf of the Colored People and finds it an inspiration to LULAC members. Herrera requests to become a subscriber to the Houston Informer.

Description: Letter from Ralph Yarborough in response to John J. Herrera's earlier question about assisting his son, John Michael Herrera, in procuring employment in Washington, D.C. in order to facilitate his further education. Yarborough informs Herrera that he does not have any vacant positions and explains the difficulty of gaining employment without the presence of the appointee. Yarborough urges Herrera to have his son get in touch if he comes to Washington.
