The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Richard Reed. Reed joined the Navy in late December, 1941 and trained at San Diego before reporting to motor torpedo boat school in Rhode Island. Reed relates many anecdotes about patrols and his experiences attacking Japanese barges around New Guinea in 1942. He recalls capturing only three Japanese POWs.
