PONE PIKERS' DAY EVENT
Instead of loafing and playing

day the seniors have postponed their
holiday until the second Friday of the

been postponed because of the two
holidays last week and the nearness
of final examinations.
A tug of war between 30 freshmen

CAMPUS NEEDS BENCHES
Howard Payne College has a very
beautiful campus and one that all
students and friends should be proud
of. However one thing that is no-
ticeable is the lack of benches. They
could be used to good advantage by
many who are majoring in a campus
course.
Lawrence Reisor of Celeste was
awarded the George A. Brewer cup
for the best individual player and
most valuable man on the Varsity
squad. The cup was presented by Mr.
Brewer after a vote of the football
players had been taken.
Logan Stollwerck of Hillsboro was
elected captain of the 1024 Mustangs.
"Stolly" has been chosen unanimously
by the sport scribes and football offi
cials as quarterback on the mythical
All-Southwestern team. He alone
shares the honor with Eckhardt of
Texas for unanimous choice.
I. J. Taylor State Press of the Dal
las News was the principal sneaker
of the evening. President Selecmin
responded for S. M. U. Coaches Morri
son and Freeland gave short talks
and introduced each individual player
to the Dallas supporters.
Captain Wilton Daniels spoke on
the fight the Mustangs displayed and
of the support given him in piloting
the Mustangs through an undefeated
season. More than 300 attended the

ets returned Sunday from the T. I. A.
A. meeting that was held in Dallas
Friday and Saturday of last week. A
few changes were made in the rulings
of the association and the general
trend and tone of the meeting was to
promote cleaner and better athletics.
Mr. Shelton stated that Howard Payne
this year had made an enviable re-
cord of having a clean sportsmanlike
football team.
